Director Mohanakrishna Indraganti is now trying to play to his strengths. His two comedies, 'Ashta Chamma' and 'Ami Thumi', are among his most appreciated works.
He is now entering the Jandhyala territory, consciously, by making a comedy drama.
Priyadarshi, who proved his versatility with films ranging from 'Balagam' and 'Jathi Ratnalu' to 'Save The Tigers' (web series), will be its male lead.
On Monday, the film was launched formally with Anita (wife of producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad) and Uma Maheswari (wife of Indraganti) clapping the first shot and switching the camera on.
The makers sounded confident of the film's genre doing its magic.
"What if Jandhyala were to make a drama tailor-made for today's audiences and trends? That's what our movie is going to be like," the Sridevi Movies Sivalenka Krishnaprasad, who is making this movie as their 15th production said.
Composer Vivek Sagar, Cinematographer PG Vinda (the long-time collaborator of Indraganti) and others are handling key technical departments.
Heroine Roopa Koduvayur, VK Naresh, Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, Avasarala Srinivas, Tanikella Bharani, and others have been named as key members of the cast.
The current schedule has begun today in Hyderabad.
