Adivi Sesh’s love-and-action entertainer Dacoit is set to hit cinemas in both Telugu and Hindi on the 10th of this month. The film’s trailer, released today, has received an overwhelming response.
Producer Supriya Yarlagadda shared that the film took two years to complete, as it was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, with extensive time spent on developing the script in both languages.
Anurag Kashyap, who plays a key role as a cop in the film, marking his Telugu debut, said he has long had a connection with Tollywood.
“My association with Tollywood goes back to the ’90s. Ram Gopal Varma was my mentor. My way of describing Dacoit is feels on wheels. It’s the kind of love story whose emotions stay with you.”
Sesh emphasized that for him, quality matters more than the number of films.
“We put a lot of effort into making Dacoit. Mrunal slept only four hours a day, and I slept just two. We worked extremely hard to give you an unforgettable experience.
There are many important elements in this movie that we deliberately didn’t reveal in the trailer. When you watch it in theatres, you’ll be completely surprised. This is a film that teases and elevates your emotions.
Since there was a genuine scope for me to dance, I tried shaking a leg for the first time. After watching one of Jonita’s music videos, I felt she would be the perfect fit for the Chicchubuddi song.”
Adivi Sesh also clarified that the film has done solid business and that producer Supriya Yarlagadda is completely safe.
