Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and headlined by Rajinikanth, delivered an impressive hold on its second day at the India box office, raking in around ₹53 crore nett.
Benefiting from the Independence Day holiday, the film’s performance shows no signs of the mixed word-of-mouth chatter impacting its run.
Audiences are turning up in large numbers, and the strong support from the paying public is driving the momentum. Adding to its ₹65 crore opening day haul, Coolie has amassed ₹118 crore nett in India over just two days.
In Tamil Nadu, day two collections are estimated at ₹33.5 crore, making it the film’s strongest territory. The Andhra states follow with a solid ₹13 crore nett, while the Hindi version showed encouraging growth, earning ₹6.5 crore nett.
Overseas markets remain exceptional for Coolie, and the film is on track to surpass ₹400 crore worldwide by the end of its extended opening weekend.
All eyes are now on how well the film sustains its hold once the holiday wave settles.
