South Indian films are showing their power at North American box-office. Rajamouli’s “Baahubali 2” broke all records of Bollywood movies and set mammoth record with the gross of 20 million dollars.
It was also highest ever release for an Indian movie in North America with about 800 screens.
Pawan Kalyan’s “Agnyaathavaasi” will now be setting new benchmark for Indian releases as it is all set to be screened in record 209 Cinemark locations.
Although “Agnyaathavaasi” will not be breaking record release of “Baahubali 2” in terms of screens but it is garnering highest number of Cinemark locations.
“Baahubali 2” holds the record for the previous highest number of Cinemark locations for Indian with 126 locations.
Rajinikanth’s “Kabali” got 76 locations, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie “Khaidi No 150” and Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” secured 74 and 69 locations respectively.
The overseas rights of “Agnyaathavaasi” was bought for whopping Rs 20 cr. Hence the distributors are going all out for the mega release.
