When “Pelli Choopulu” was released, director Tharun Bhascker was hailed as the next big thing. His refreshing style of narrative inspired many filmmakers as well. He gave confidence to many young directors.
Producers ran after him. Actors like Venkatesh have offered him films. But Tharun Bhascker missed all those opportunities. He focused on acting and other activities, skipping direction.
In six years, he had just directed only two feature films – “Pelli Chooplu” and “Ee Nagariniki Emaindi”.
His proposed film with Venkatesh got shelved. People have almost forgotten him.
Tharun Bhascker has now decided to wield the megaphone. He will be directing a crime comedy with newcomers.
