Allu Arjun has been on a roll with back to back hits and everything has been working just well for him.
Despite not so encouraging reviews from critics, his latest "Duvvada Jagannadham" is doing good business at movie screens. That has been acknowledged by the media as well. So, he and his director Harish Shankar should be happy with that.
Instead of celebrating the good numbers the movie has been posting, they have aimed their guns at critics at the Thank You Meet of "Duvvada Jagannadham" that was held on Monday evening in Hyderabad.
Both Harish Shankar and Allu Arjun said that they don't give much importance to the reviews. Yet, they went on talking about reviews.
Harish Shankar in particularly expressed his displeasure with the critics in his long speech.
"Ours is democratic country. Everyone is entitled to have opinion," he said and went on attacking the critics who gave low ratings to his movie.
He urged fans and audiences to write their own reviews instead of believing the movie reviews. Harish Shankar seems to be believing that he has made a classic movie. He is more apologetic about his movie than the reviewers despite the "success".
Allu Arjun also spoke about reviews in his speech. "Negative reviews don't affect me and my movies," he said.
The so-called "Thank You Meet" has turned into "Bashing the Critics Meet". If they don't really care about movie reviews and if they believe that critics don't matter, then why should they waste their time and energy on movie reviews?
Bollywood critics slam big movies and big stars ruthlessly but the stars take it in their stride. But our Bunny and Harish Shankar should learn from them.
