Manoj Nandam who acted as the young Mahesh Babu and Prabhas in Aagadu and Chatrapathi subsequently turned hero and had a modest run with Oka Romantic Crime Katha being his most popular film.
Manoj is all set to play a baddie in his next film in the direction of Sai Kiran Adivi.
Speaking exclusively to greatandhra.com, Manoj said, “I approached Sai Kiran Adivi for a lead role, instead he asked me to play a villain in his film. I was not convinced and even his unit was against it. But Sai Kiran felt that I would be the right fit for the character.
It’s an immensely terrifying character and I had to undergo a screen test and prep for it a lot. I shot for the first schedule in the picturesque locale of Lammasingi in Araku Valley.
The place is so beautiful that it is called ‘Andhra Kashmir’. We shot there for 16 days and 2 days in Hyderabad.
After we shot for one particular scene, the entire unit gave me a standing ovation. I was really thrilled,” said Manoj Nandam.
But will it not affect his career playing a villain at this point? “Why should it?” he questions and adds, “I came to the industry to become an actor, to do as many diverse roles as possible.
When you have a director who’s convinced that you alone can portray a certain role, it’s a challenge and immensely satisfying as an actor.” Sasha Chettri (famous for her 4G ad for a leading mobile network service provider) and Nithya Naresh are essaying the female leads in the as yet untitled film.
