Filmmaker Boney Kapoor says his debutante daughter Janhvi Kapoor has her own individuality and is not trying to ape her actress-mother Sridevi.
“She is trying to be herself which is good. Sridevi is an iconic figure so why should Janhvi ape her? If she has to make a mark, she should be her own self,” he argued, adding, “She is a sensible, intelligent girl. She is hardworking, sincere towards her work and she will create a niche for herself."
The star daughter is being launched by Karan Johar in the Shashank Khaitan-directed Dhadak, the Hindi remake of Marathi hit, Sairat, opposite Ishaan Khatter.
Boney asserted that he is happy with the way the film is shaping up.
“I was in Udaipur for a day and it's going pretty well. Janhvi was filming a song and it looked fantastic. The stills also look good,” he signed off.
