At one time, V V Vinayak enjoyed the status of number one director in Tollywood as his mass-oriented movies were a big draw at box-office.
He was bigger than Rajamouli couple of years ago. Times have changed. So are his fortunes. Today Rajamouli's number one director. Vinayak is not in the top league at all.
His career prospects are further declining. Ahead of his new release "Inttelligent", V V Vinayak said that he doesn't know which direction his career is heading.
It is clear that he is frustrated that big stars like NTR Jr, Ram Charan and Mahesh Babu are not giving dates to him at present.
He has commitments to do a sequel to "Adhurs" with NTR Jr and an action drama with Mahesh Babu but neither of them is showing any interest in working with this director who has lost his form.
When asked what would be his next film, he replied: "I will take off from movies for some time. I will decide about next film after some months."
He delivered huge dud with Akhil's maiden film. His recent "Khaidi No 150" was a big hit due to the hype around Megastar Chiranjeevi's comeback. No critic appreciated his work. His latest "Inttelligent" is hardly looking promising.
Vinayak also shot down the reports that he would be contesting polls in next general elections in Andhra Pradesh.
"I am not joining any party. At least, not this term," he clarified.
