From the past two weeks, Telugu films have virtually become non-existent at box-office. “Awe”, “Tholi Prema” and other February releases too have ended their run after grossing great amount in the initial days.
“Awe” had raked in staggeringly huge amount in the first week but its run in the subsequent weeks is not much.
At one time, it seemed the film may join one million dollars club but it has not been able to bring more audiences in its second week. Nevertheless, this is a good hit in the USA market.
By end of two months in 2018, only three films have grossed more than a million dollars. They are Pawan Kalyan’s “Agnyaathavaasi”, “Bhaagamathi” and “Tholi Prema”.
Pawan Kalyan’s “Agnyaathavaasi” had collected whopping two million dollars but the distributor lost 50 percent on the investment as they had bought it for huge amount.
On the other hand, Anushka’s “Bhaagamathie” became a big hit. The film has ended its run with the gross of $1,108,116 ($1.1 million).
Varun Tej’s “Tholi Prema” didn’t add much moolah in the later days of its run although word-of-mouth remained strong. It ended its run with the gross of $1,056,293 ($1.0 million).
Nani presented “Awe” has ended its run and its cumulative gross now stands at $820k.
Naga Shourya’s “Chalo” too had great run at ticket window despite no major star attractions. The film ended its run with the total gross of $744k. It was a good hit.
