For the past three weeks, the North American distributors have suffered huge losses. One film after the other, films that got released bombed.
Last week, North America saw the release of Sunil’s “Ungarala Rambabu” and Nara Rohith’s “Kathalo Rajakumari”. Both the films bit the dust.
Except “Maryada Ramanna”, all Sunil’s movies bombed miserably in USA but the openings of “Ungarala Rambabu” are a shame to his image.
The film didn’t gross even $ 1000 (Rs 64 thousand) in its opening weekend. This proves that he has no market as a hero in the US.
Nara Rohith’s “Kathalo Rajakumari” also tanked but it thankfully fared better than Sunil’s movie. In its opening weekend, the movie took in about $14k.
“Paisa Vasool”, “Yuddham Sharanam”, “Meda Medha Abbayi”…. all have left a huge dent in the pockets of distributors.
On the other hand, super-duper blockbuster “Arjun Reddy” has come to the end of its dream run in USA. The film will be taken off the screens this Thursday. “Arjun Reddy” now stands at $ 1.75 million.
