Two States: RS 100 Crores Market Is Created

One great help that Prabhas starrer Baahubali has done is to realize the real potential of our cinema market in two Telugu states – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Forget about overseas, Karnataka and other markets, the Two states now can generate collections of Rs 100 Crores per movie provided the film appeals to all sections of the audience.

Like Bollywood has 100 Crores Club, we may soon have such scenario in Tollywood specifically related to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Baahubali is all set to generate such amount from these two states by end of the run of the movie with Nizam contributing in the range of Rs 35-40 Crores, Andhra bringing Rs 40-45 Crores and Ceded adding Rs 20 Crores. Altogether it might get Rs 100 Crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.

In Bollywood, if a movie grosses Rs 100 Crores in India it is declared a blockbuster. Many Bollywood movies collect more than Rs 200 Crores but on an average a blockbuster movie grosses just about 100 Crores of rupees nationwide. Here, we have created similar market from just two states.

Indeed great times are ahead for Telugu film industry. All it needs to do is coming up with highly qualitative films with rich production values.
