Trade Talk: New Releases Fail To Create Impact

Friday releases Awe and Manasuku Nachindi failed to create impact at the box office. Awe, an out-of-the-box mystery/thriller produced by Nani had a good first day across Hyderabad plexes and in USA, but couldn’t take off in other centers.

Word of mouth for Awe from internet savvy audience is positive, but the majority is giving it the thumbs down.

Director Prashanth Varma’s new style of filmmaking is being liked by a section of audience and critics, but its unconventional approach, confusing screenplay and slow pace are not able to impress the majority audience.

Manasuku Nachindi directed by Manjula Ghattamaneni turned out to be an outright dud with stale script and dated execution.

Tholi Prema that had a wonderful first week has the edge to dominate the box office for another week. The film can easily surpass the breakeven mark in all areas as the new releases failed to create any impact.

Chalo and Bhagamathie turned out to be super hits for all of their investors.
