Top 5: Superstar Packs A Solid Punch

1) Dangal: Aamir Khan has set the cash registers ringing with his latest offering Dangal, a drama based on real life characters and incidents. The film is an instant hit with all sections of audience and is set for breaking many records.

Aamir has an enviable hundred percent record for Christmas and Dangal followed the suit. It remains to be seen whether the film goes on to beat PK’s record to become the biggest hit of all time.

2) Vangaveeti: Curiosity factor around the real subject helped Ram Gopal Varma’s Vangaveeti to put very good numbers on its first day. However, RGV has let the audience down by not getting into the details of the subject and simply focusing on the murders. There is a dip in the collections on Saturday and Sunday barring a few centers across Coastal Andhra.

3) Dhruva: Dhruva had another fair weekend at the box office. Sunday collections are good despite many new releases. The film has collected more than fifty crore share, but still has to earn few more crores to be a safe venture. This is the second biggest grosser among Ram Charan’s films.

The film has done well against all odds, but could have done better if it was released during a better season, says the trade.

4) Saptagiri Express: Saptagiri Express has shocked one and all with a superb show on its first Sunday. On a whole, the film had a decent first weekend at the box office as Saptagiri factor worked in B and C centers.

Word of mouth is not at all encouraging though, which may take a toll on it in the coming days.

5) Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends: Although the makers claim it to be a super hit, NNNB failed to click with the audience. With so many new releases around, NNNB succumbed further and couldn’t cash in on the holiday weekend.
