Top 5: Sankranthi Films Fail To Live Up To Hype

Top 5: Sankranthi Films Fail To Live Up To Hype

1) Agnyaathavaasi: Pawan Kalyan – Trivikram much hyped movie of the season Agnyaathavaasi is heading for a huge disaster.

After taking a superb start on its day 1, Agnyaathavaasi suffered a steep fall on its day 2 and continued to slip further. There isn’t considerable growth on its first Sunday too.

The film is sure going to leave buyers in dire straits even if it does better on the Sankranthi day.

Trivikram totally failed as a writer and director and took Pawan Kalyan’s image for granted that resulted in such a colossal failure.

2) Jai Simha: Thanks to Agnyaathavaasi’s terrible failure, Jai Simha is doing decent business in spite of cliched content and eighties style of making.

The film did better on Sunday compared to Agnyaathavaasi, which means it will make the most of Sankranthi holidays among the new releases.

3) Gang: Suriya has totally lost his grip over Telugu market that Gang had a very limited release compared to all of his recent films. Poor publicity also didn’t let the film post good numbers in its opening weekend.

It is carrying better talk among all the sankranthi films, but collections are not on par with the talk.

Suriya realized that the film is suffering from poor promotions and decided to tour in Telugu states to boost the film’s collections in coming days.

4) Rangula Ratnam: The film has shockingly low production values in spite of coming from prestigious Annapurna Studios banner. Even the story and screenplay are not in tune with the festive mood.

An overdose of emotions will restrict Rangula Ratnam’s chances of surviving post Sankranthi holidays. It is the weakest of Raj Tarun’s recent films, opine critics.

5) MCA: Last hit film of last year is still holding decent number of screens across Telugu states.

With Sankranthi films failing to live up to the hype, MCA is posting reasonable numbers in its fourth week.
