Apparently, the Perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan erred this time. His latest outing Thugs of Hindostan has been receiving unanimous negative feedback from all corners.
Top critics are writing it off as one of the forgettable movies of the year. Rajeev Masand wrote “Gonna need some drugs to get over the Thugs,” on his Twitter page.
Taran Adarsh termed it as king sized disappointment.
“#TOH is a golden opportunity lost, a KING-SIZED DISAPPOINTMENT! All that glitters is NOT gold... Holds true for #TOH... Some engrossing moments in the first hour, that’s about it... Formula-ridden plot, screenplay of convenience, shoddy direction are the main culprits,” he commented.
Taran also added that #TOH may reap benefit of the tremendous hype, star cast and holiday season, but will find it difficult to sustain after the initial euphoria settles down.
The trailer of Thugs itself was a huge letdown. Director Vijay Krishna Acharya’s first film as director Tashan was a dud, but he scored a blockbuster with Aamir’s Dhoom 3.
Aamir, who has been making some impressive choices with his script selection, has failed to judge the Thugs.
