The Tamil industry seems to be obsessed with the genre of horror and everyone from small heroes to big are attempting something in this genre of late.
Not to be left behind, even the heroines are trying their luck in this segment with remarkable success.
Nayanthara played the lead role in the heroine-oriented horror flick ‘Maya’ which was a he success. Naturally, producers are queuing up for her dates for more such films.
But Nayanthara charges around Rs 3 crore per film and this obviously is not a palatable proposition for many producers. Their next attention therefore is on Anjali who has tasted success with Kona Venkat’s ‘Geethanjali’.
Instead of giving Nayan Rs 3 crore, they can wrap up the entire film with Anjali on that budget and still hope for a similar result at the box-office.
Added to this is the fact that she has a market in both Tamil and Telugu. So, as of now, Anjali has emerged as a strong alternative to Nayanthara.
