The 'Bobby Effect' Minimizes Tarak's Craze

NTR is arguably one of the biggest Telugu stars in overseas market. His Nannaku Prematho grossed $2 Million in spite of heavy competition and Janatha Garage came close to the $2 Million mark.

Buyers should be betting very big on his next film, but the director’s track record seems to have scared them off.

Earlier a distributor came forward to buy the overseas rights of Jai Lava Kusa for Rs. 11 crore. He backed off after negotiations as he couldn’t find takers for such a hefty price.

With no one coming forward to bet on Bobby’s film, producer Kalyan Ram had to bring down the asking price of Jai Lava Kusa.

As per latest reports, overseas rights of Jai Lava Kusa were sold for Rs. 8.1 crore. This is pretty low price tag for an NTR starrer. However, director Bobby effect has minimized NTR’s craze to such an extent that the producer had to settle for a low price.

According to the revised price, Jai Lava Kusa needs to collect $ 2Million in US to be a successful film in the overseas market.
