Ashritha Kamath is currently working as the art director for James Cameron’s Avatar 2. The Andhra girl went a long way from being a village girl to a renowned art director in Hollywood.
Ashritha who had worked on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as prop master went onto work on big ticket Hollywood films like Kong: Skull Island, I see you, Pacific Rim:Uprising and The BFG.
After working with Steven Spielberg for The BFG, she is currently working on the most prestigious Avatar 2 with James Cameron.
Aashrita holds an MFA in Production Design from the American Film Institute Conservatory, the number one ranking film institute in the world.
Her first thesis film Interstate won a bronze at the 41st Student Academy Awards in June 2014.
Her second thesis film, Dustland, was nominated for Best Production and Art Design at the FilmQuest. Ashritha’s mother was a graphic designer and she was the first teacher for her.
“Today, if I’m someone to reckon with, I owe it to my family,” she says.
