Recently, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar announced the release date of his new movie “Padman”. Immediately, speculations about the release of Rajanikanth's 2.0 have been clarified.
Padman will be releasing on January 26, 2018. Initially, 2.0 was scheduled for release on January 25.
Since Akshay Kumar plays the villain’s role in “2.0”, his “Padman”, in which he plays the hero, will not compete with Rajinikanth’s movie.
The release date announcement of “Padman” caught everyone in the movie industry off guard.
The move is surprising because the team of “2.0” has just released songs in a big way at an event held in Dubai. They held the audio launch as part of movie’s promotions.
They have lined up another three big events in the next three months. If the film gets pushed to summer, rest of the events will be stopped for now.
Director Shankar and his producers have not yet responded to the rumors. If it really gets postponed, this will change the release dates of major south Indian movies.
Many Telugu movies like Mahesh Babu’s “Bharath Ane Nenu”, Ram Charan’s “Rangasthalam” and Allu Arjun’s “Naa Peru Surya” will also be rescheduled.
