South film stars arrives in Mumbai for Sridevi's funeral

Veteran actor Sridevi Kapoor breathed her last on Saturday in Dubai after she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

The actress, along with husband Boney Kapoor, younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and other family members, was in the United Arab Emirates city to attend the wedding celebrations of her nephew Mohit Marwah.

As per the latest developments, Sridevi’s mortal remains shall be brought on a private jet, sent by Anil Ambani. The plane shall arrive at the cargo airport terminal on Monday.

Her last rites will take place at Pawan Hans crematorium at Juhu, Mumbai on February 26 in the afternoon.

Before the funeral, celebrities and family members shall pay their last respects to the late actor.

In fact, South Indian film big-wigs will also be in full attendance to pay tribute to the Hawa Hawai actress. According to reports, Rajinikanth has flown to Mumbai to be part of Sridevi's funeral.

The Kollywood superstar had worked with Sridevi in many movies that include Moonru Mudichu and shared a good friendship with her.

Reports also state that apart from Rajinikanth, top stars from Telugu Industry too, are expected to attend her funeral.

Notably, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh are likely to be representing the Tollywood. Bharathiraaja, K Raghavendra Rao, Ambareesh, Prakash Raj and many other personalities from South films are expected to be in Mumbai to be part of her funeral.

Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Sridevi started acting aged four with a role in the Tamil film, Thunaivan.

The actress made her Bollywood debut in 1979 with Solva Sawan, but it was Sadma which helped her cement her position as a star in the Hindi film industry.
