'Sardaar' Beats 'Srimanthudu' Record

"Sardar Gabbar Singh" (Sardaar/SGS) has made brilliant collection at the U.S. box office in the premiere show. It has beaten the record of Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" and become the second biggest film after "Bahubali: The Beginning."

The huge success of "Gabbar Singh" generated a lot of curiosity about its sequel "Sardar Gabbar Singh" among film goers in the country.

The final total of "Sardar Gabbar Singh" is $643k at the U.S. box office in the premiere shows.

"Sardaar Gabbar Singh" has become the highest grosser for Pawan Kalyan, beating the record of "Attarintiki Daredi," which collected $345,000 at the U.S. box office in the preview shows.

The film has also shattered the records of superstar Mahesh Babu's "Sreemanthudu" and "Aagadu," which grossed $565K and $550K, respectively from the premieres in the country.
