Pawan Kalyan and Devi Sri Prasad is one of the sensational combinations in Tollywood. Devi Sri Prasad has always stored his best for Power star and no wonder they have scored big musical hits with all their previous outings.
Jalsa is one of the finest of DSP’s albums ever and Gabbar Singh music played a big role in the success of the film.
Who can forget the magic of songs like Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham and Kevvu Keka had on the masses? DSP completed the hat-trick with Attarintiki Daredi which also had some of the biggest chartbusters.
We cannot blame fans for having high expectations on Sardaar Gabbar Singh audio with his phenomenal track record.
However, Devi Sri Prasad has let everybody down with his lackluster musical score for Sardaar Gabbar Singh.
Barring a couple of songs that can eventually grow on the listeners, SGS audio album is a damp squib. Not even one chartbuster to name among the six songs in the album.
Rehash of Gabbar Singh title song lacked the punch and verve of the original. Tauba Tauba is catchy with the entertaining lyrics written by Ananth Sriram.
Khakee Chokka sung by Mamata Sharma and Simha is okay but nowhere near to Kevvu Keka sung by the same female singer in Gabbar Singh.
Nee Chepa Kallu and O Pilla Subahnallah are the melodies that can grow on repeated hearings. Aadevadanna Eedevadanna is a situational background song that should have been exclusive for the film. Having such songs in a commercial album will have negative impact on the expectations of audience.
This seems like a rushed up job from Devi Sri Prasad who has always been in top form while working with Pawan Kalyan. So Sardaar has additional workload on his shoulders to pull this off as he doesn’t have chartbuster DSP songs to his arsenal.
