Reel Buzz: A Sad State Of Affairs

SS Rajamouli literally rips off scenes from English films for 'Baahubali' and the makers then have the gumption to call it an international cinema which would enhance the pride of Tollywood.

And today, in an interview given to a leading English daily, Vamsi Pydapalli, director of ‘Oopiri’ says that the movie has changed him a lot as a director.

“I reinvented myself and you can witness a sea change in terms of my thought process, direction and creativity, projecting my character’s behaviour, etc. I’m loving this phase. There are a very few jobs where you will have the room to reinvent yourself and filmmaking is one of them,” said Vamsi Pydapalli.

Only in Indian cinema can you find such people who indulge in sophisticated copy-paste jobs and then try to pass off as creators.

‘Oopiri’ is a remake of the French hit ‘The Intouchables’. Is remaking that in Telugu and customizing it to the sensibilities of the Telugu audiences, the creativity and re-invention that Vamsi was talking about?

In that case, Bheemaneni Srinivas Rao is the greatest creator of Tollywood, isn’t it folks?
