'Yuddham Sharanam' has turned out to be a huge dud and goes without saying, the blame game has started.
Naga Chaitanya did the film to give a chance to his childhood buddy Krishna R V Murimuthu, who debuted as director with the film.
However, industry observers point that two films that Rajamouli’s step-son Karthikeya was involved in have turned out to be duds. Interestingly, both the movies starred Akkineni heroes.
Karthikeya who acted as second unit director for Baahubali movies was involved in the publicity department and also in other production activities of Akhil Akkineni’s maiden film “Akhil”.
The film’s making videos were done by Karthikeya and Akhil used to shower lavish praise on him. However, the film bombed at the box-office.
Now Karthikeya debuted as line producer with Naga Chaitanya’s “Yuddham Sharanam”. Insiders say he was also involved in some portions of movie making.
Though the trouble with the movie is its routine story and weak narration, industry people also point out that this is second consecutive flop for Rajamouli’s step-son.
In an industry where sentiments prevail, this is a bad start for the youngster who is hoping to debut as director after sometime. Perhaps, for now, he needs to stick to Rajamouli’s movies.
