Power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan's statement that he is not going to support any political party in the ensuing Nandyal by-elections has come a big blow to the Telugu Desam Party, which was hoping to capitalising on the Balija votes, if Pawan extended his support to its candidate Bhuma Brahmanand Reddy, if not campaign for the party.
Pawan categorically denied the reports appearing in a section of media that his party would support a political party (read TDP) and said it was yet to evolve as a full-fledged party.
However, sources say Pawan was planning for supporting the TDP if not overtly but at least covertly, but the feedback he had obtained from his fans and followers in Seemandhra that the TDP was going to lose Nandyal by-elections to YSR Congress party by a big margin.
If the Jana Sena extends its support to a losing horse like the TDP, it will lose its own credibility. It will create an impression that the people are not giving any credence to Jana Sena.
Since Pawan is planning to storm the next elections in a big way, any negative talk at this stage would cause immense harm to his political plans and he, too, might end up like Praja Rajyam Party floated by his brother Chiranjeevi.
So, it is better to remain neutral rather than remaining on the losing side!
