If the reports doing rounds in the media circles in Andhra Pradesh are true, power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan would support the Telugu Desam Party in the 2019 elections, in the event of the Bharatiya Janata Party snapping ties with the TDP.
According to these reports, there is likely to be realignment of political forces in the state before 2019 elections.
The BJP might go it alone in the elections or join hands with the YSR Congress party, which is likely to offer 15 MP seats to the former in case the alliance materialises.
If the BJP deserts the TDP, the latter will become weak and it has no option but to join hands with Jana Sena, which is the only party which might make some impact on the elections.
So, when Pawan Kalyan meets TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on July 31 to discuss the issue of treatment to kidney patients of Uddanam area, there is likely to be discussion over the political realignment as well.
Since Pawan has taken a clear stand against the BJP, he may have no objection to join hands with the TDP, say these reports.
If Pawan takes a plunge into politics in a full-fledged manner from next year, he would cause a considerable impact on Andhra politics.
Naidu hopes Pawan would be able to douse the flames of unrest among the Kapus and turn them in favour of the TDP.
