One Man's Loss Is Another's Gain

One Man's Loss Is Another's Gain

Shatamanam Bhavati was first narrated to Raj Tarun who was not impressed and declined the opportunity politely. Subsequently, even Sharwanand did not like the storyline when Dil Raju told it to him over the phone. However, he was convinced when the director narrated the script personally to him.

Upon release, the movie was lambasted by most critics for the same reasons that Raj Tarun and Sharwanand had raised when they had first listened to the story. But the collections of the movie took everyone by surprise and the movie turned out to be an extremely profitable venture.

Dil Raju thereby proved that his experience is far more valuable than the young heroes’ judgement. Dil Raju’s banner, the promotions and timing of the release for Sankranthi, a family get-together time in Andhra Pradesh, have worked wonders at the box-office.

Raj Tarun’s loss has turned out to be Sharwanand’s gain. He could have accepted the movie at least for the honour of working in a Dil Raju production.
