Director Vamsi (Senior) is one of those few in Tollywood with a distinct identity of his own. In a career spanning more than three decades, this director has made only about 25 films, yet some of them will remain forever etched in the annals of Telugu cinema.
Vamsi who started his second innings after quite a long gap tasted success straightaway with ‘Avunu Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru’.
Although he did make many films after that, they weren’t successful at the box-office. In fact his last film ‘Tanu Monne Vellipoyindi’ was in the cans for a long time for want of buyers. Changing the name of the film did not help either.
Some time back, it was reported that Vamsi was planning a sequel to his cult hit ‘Ladies Tailor’. Raj Tarun was confirmed as hero for the title role of ‘Fashion Ladies Tailor’. But since then there has been no further news of the project.
Raj Tarun on the other hand is signing some good projects which gives rise to the speculation that his movie with Vamsi may have been shelved. Ravi Teja was the first choice for the project, but that plan didn’t materialize either.
