With small and medium budget films doing well at the box office producers are gaining confidence and taking on big films too.
We have seen many mini and mega clashes in the recent past and we are going to witness many more in the coming days.
After Sankranthi, box office is going to witness multiple releases in the next couple of weeks. There will be a lull for some time after Mahasivaratri weekend (Feb 9) and box office will get busy again in the summer season.
Rangasthalam of Ram Charan – Sukumar will kick start this summer on March 29. However, it is not going to enjoy a solo release as two notable films are eyeing for the same date.
Biopic of Savitri ‘Mahanati’ and Kalyan Ram’s ‘MLA’ are slated for release for the same weekend as Rangasthalam.
With April and May crowded with high budget films like 2.0, Bharat Ane Nenu and Naa Peru Surya, there’s not much can anybody do than taking a chance.
Rangasthalam will have to share screens with other films and will be under pressure to generate positive word of mouth as huge money is at stake.
Mahanati can dent Rangasthalam’s business in overseas and MLA could be a threat in B and C centers.
So makers of Rangasthalam cannot take the competition lightly.
