Nayanathara, Vijay In Chiru's Period Drama?

Konidela Productions' new production with megastar Chiranjeevi was formally launched yesterday on August 16.

The film now boasts of a 'big' starcast as top stars from other industries are being signed for the film. Talk is that high levels of pressure seem to have worked finally.

Playing a small, but rather important role in the film will be Amitabh Bachchan. Chiranjeevi flew to Mumbai to meet Big B and convince him about the role.

He explained the importance of the role and how his presence would add to the grandeur of the period patriotic film. Amitabh Bachchan is said to have given 10 days for the shoot.

In the past, Big B politely turned down Balakrishna's Rythu, which is being directed by Krishnavamsi, citing call sheet problem.

Initially, Big B had refused to do Chiranjeevi's film too. But Chiranjeevi requested him personally and given their long-time bonding, Big B gave his nod finally.

Closer home, Tamil's latest sensation Vijay Sethupathi has also been signed for the film. A R Rahman too gave his nod to Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy, which will be directed by Surender Reddy.

Nayanathara, who was also disinterested in the project initially, finally gave in and signed the dotted line after getting a whopping Rs 3.5 crore.

The high-budget film needs an all-India star cast and all efforts are on to make it a scintillating period drama.

The regular shoot of the film will commence from September.
