Post Akhil Akkineni's debut, he hasn't had a release. Presently, he is working on a film and the actor is in bad need of a huge hit as his first film was a box-office dud.
His dad Nagarjuna has finalized December 22 as the release date for Akhil's next. But Akhil might have strong competition as the film will clash with Nani's release.
It is known that Nani has established himself as a bankable actor and his films are being well-received. Akhil on the other hand has quite a following among youth, but he is yet to prove himself as an actor.
Many of Nagarjuna's blockbusters had released in December in the past and with this sentiment in mind, Akhil's film has been locked for December.
Surely, Nagarjuna did not anticipate competition as Nani's MCA was supposed to release on December 29.
However, the film's producer Dil Raju has pushed the release ahead and now the film will release on December 21. Since Nani is riding high on the wave of back-to-back successes, Akhil is bound to have stiff competition.
Nagarjuna has been saying that Akhil's latest being directed by "Manam" fame Vikram Kumar is like a re-launch of his son. He must be mighty miffed by Dil Raju's decision.
