Kona Blames Trivikram and Koratala

Veteran writer Kona Venkat says he couldn’t become a director as popular writers like Trivikram and Koratala Siva turned directors.

“As Trivikram and Koratala stopped writing dialogs, most of the directors have been approaching me to get the job done. I couldn’t turn down their requests, which is why I didn’t take up direction yet,” Kona said.

“If Koratala Siva continued to write dialogs for two more years, I would’ve been a director by now,” the veteran writer added.

Kona Venkat has good relations with almost all the big heroes and he could launch a movie with any young hero at any given point of time. However Kona wants to do a big ticket movie to announce his arrival as a director.

In fact, Kona Venkat did direct a bilingual movie called Nenu Tanu Aame with Madhavan as the lead. That film did not have a theatrical release due to the creative differences between the technicians and the producer.

Kona Venkat who has penned many blockbusters in his career couldn’t live up to expectations lately. Shankarabharanam and Abhinetri, his recent films as producer also tanked at the box office.
