Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is most likely to drop at least 40 sitting MLAs while issuing party tickets in the next elections.
According to the talk going on in the party circles, KCR got the intelligence input about the performance of his party MLAs and ministers and their prospects of winning in the next elections.
As per the repot, out of 90-odd MLAs the party has now, including the defectors from other parties, at least 40 MLAs are likely to lose the elections if fielded again on behalf of the TRS.
An internal survey conducted by the party recently showed that it might not get more than 45 MLA seats in the next elections, if all the sittings are given the tickets again.
If tickets are given to at least 40-45 fresh candidates, the party might win another 20 seats, thereby retaining power for the second time.
Moreover, the TRS chief is also under pressure to accommodate the defectors from the TDP and the Congress in the recent past, like for instance Uma Madhava Reddy from the TDP. And KCR has promised them tickets in the next elections.
In such case, he has no option but to axe the sitting MLAs.
The question is whether KCR can dare sack so many MLAs, since it would trigger widespread revolt in the party. And the Congress would definitely take advantage of it!
