End of December will see the release of two films from two leading banners in Telugu. One is MCA, Middle Class Abbayi, from Dil Raju starring Nani and the other film happens to be Akhil's film Hello being produced by his home banner Annapurna Studios.
The films will release a day apart from each other and both the films have set certain expectations among audiences.
While the general feeling is that Nani's MCA would suffice if one wants to watch routine fare with routine songs and comedy, Akhil's film is being looked upon for variety story, screenplay and action.
Like most of Nani's films that are what one can label as safe films, MCA too sticks to a formulaic storyline and promises no sudden surprises for the audiences.
As usual Nani will cast his charm, but the film is unlikely to dole out any 'out of the box' stuff. In fact, the recently released trailer confirms the same.
The story revolves around a family with two brothers and friction between them. Then of course, there is the heroine's track.
On the other hand, there is curiosity around Akhil's film thanks to its director Vikram Kumar.
The director is known to tackle his story with a fresh approach and give each scene a fresh appeal. And the action sequences in the trailer have already upped expectations among young audiences.
Also, recently, film's producer Nagarjuna announced that the entire story of Hello would take place between 10 am in the morning to 5 pm in the evening. This has also added to the intrigue element.
Over all, there is common feeling that Nani will once again pull off MCA on his strength. But Hello will be a litmus test for Akhil, as it is being marketed as his proper debut film.
If variety does the trick, then it is bound to kick-start Akhil's career, else, the film is bound to be another damp squib for Annapurna banner.
