If Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has his way, senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member Garikapati Mohan Rao is going to be inducted into the Narendra Modi Cabinet shortly, in place of Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y V Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary.
According to party sources, the Prime Minister’s Office has asked the TDP chief to suggest the name of another MP in place of Sujana Chowdary for the union council of ministers in the next cabinet reshuffle, since there have been concrete evidences about the alleged money laundering by Chowdary.
It is learnt Modi is quite unhappy with the alleged default of loan by Sujana Chowdary’s company with a Mauritius bank, besides the ED cases against him. So, he reportedly wanted a replacement for Chowdary in the Cabinet,
Naidu, on his part, is also not happy with Sujana Chowdary who he feels is misusing his office in New Delhi. Though he has a couple of options, he is said to be preferring Garikapati as the latter has been his close confidant for several years.
Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy is also seeking berth in the Union Cabinet, but Naidu feels Garikapati might help strengthen the TDP in Telangana.
