Some disgruntled distributors are trying to stop the release of Rajinikanth's "Kabali" by raking up an old issue. Distribution company Lakshmi Ganapathi Films lost money heavily on Rajinikanth's earlier movie "Vikramasimha" which was produced by Rajini's wife Latha and directed by his daughter.
The distribution company has incurred the losses up to Rs 7 Cr and is now trying to stop the release of "Kabali" by demanding the amount to be paid. Bur Rajinikanth's family is not heeding to them. Buzz in the industry is that with the help of some biggies in the industry, the distribution company is planning to stage dharna.
Realizing this, the producers who bought the rights of "Kabali" for AP and Telangana are working on low profile. They haven't made any promotional activity. The Telugu version's censor formalities have also been completed today. Still, the producers have not issued any press statement or released poster with the release date.
Since the movie has already created huge buzz, they feel no need of doing push for promotions.
