Drishyam has been remade into multiple languages and it has been a commercial success in all the languages.
So, the director of the original Malayalam version Jeethu Joseph has done a post-mortem of sorts for all the versions.
While he confessed that all versions had come out well, he mentioned that he was not particularly happy with the Hindi version. And his reason was that he did not particularly like the casting of the Hindi film.
In Hindi, Ajay Devgn and Shriya played wife and husband. In Malayalam and Telugu, Shriya's role was played by Meena and in Tamil, Gauthami played the part.
So, though he did not take names, he indirectly pointed fingers at Shriya, since he cannot find fault with Ajay Devgn.
In fact, when the film released, it was said that Shriya was the weak point in the film. Well, for Shriya who is trying to get on with character roles, this is like a slap out of the blue.
