Producer Dil Raju is under pressure from Brahmin associations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Dronamraju, the representative of Brahmin associations, has already sent objection letters to Censor Board, Minister for Cinematography, and DGP over the use of “Namakam Chamakam” in the song “Gudilo Badilo” in “DJ Duvvada Jagannadham”.
Director Harish Shankar has given clarification on this issue and he also asked the Brahmins to understand the story and situation before commenting it.
He also said that he is Brahmin and he would never write a scene that depicts the Brahmins in bad light.
He gave many examples how great lyricists like Veturi used Hindu chants in romantic songs.
Still, the Brahmin associations have not backtracked on their stance. They have asked the censor board to cut the lyrics when the film comes for censor certification.
Censor Board is a Central Government’s agency. Given BJP government’s stand on these matters, producer Dil Raju doesn’t want a fight with the board. So, he will be changing the lines in the song. It will be rewritten, a source informed us.
In “Duvvada Jagannadham”, Allu Arjun plays the role of a Brahmin youngster. The film, that is directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Dil Raju, is gearing up for release on 23rd June. The movie carries huge expections.
