Hyderabad: Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy of the Hyderabad HC has quashed a criminal case filed against Tollywood hero Nithiin and his sister Nikhitha currently being tried by a Malkajgiri Court.
The case pertains to Telugu movie ‘Akhil.’ The movie was made by Sresht company owned by Nithiin's father Sudhakar Reddy.
They were arrayed as accused number one and two in this case filed by one Gangadhara Satyanarayana of Sainikpuri in Secunderabad whose main grievance was that he was not given the required rights over ‘Akhil’ movie despite having given ₹50 lakh to them.
Arguing Nithiin’s case, senior counsel S Niranjan Reddy said the two siblings have got nothing to do with the tussle pertaining to the movie. In fact, they were not even part of Sresht. Even the money was not given by the complainant. It was a US distributor who gave the money through the complainant.
In order to pressure Sudhakar Reddy, the names of his son and daughter were being brought in, Reddy said. The judge then quashed the case.
