Some directors finish a film within months, others take a year or more. In Tollywood, apart from Rajamouli, Sukumar has the credit for taking a year or so for completing a film.
He started the shoot of Rangashtalam early February and he is yet to complete it.
The release date for the film has been announced as March 2018, and he has ample time. But there is a little twist in the tale here.
Ram Charan who plays the lead wants the film completed by December, as he wants to move on to the film being directed by Boyapati Srinivas.
The original plan of the makers was to have an August 2017 release for the film. Then, the release date was moved to Sankranthi 2018.
However, with Pawan Kalyan’s “Agnathavaasi” fixing its date as January 10, 2018, the makers were forced to push the movie to March 2018.
So, director Sukumar became relaxed as he got more time. But suddenly, Charan imposed a deadline to wrap it up by December.
Sukumar is presently finalizing the tunes for the final three songs and they have to be shot in the coming days. But will he complete the movie by this year end?
Given his style of functioning and his penchant for perfection with multiple set ups for the same sequence, Charan is worried if Sukumar can meet the deadline.
Buzz is that Sukumar is also feeling the heat and is now under pressure. The film’s budget too has already gone beyond the limit.
