Ranbir Kapoor who was cruising ahead to attain super stardom with the successful films like Barfi, Rockstar and Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani, suffered huge setbacks with a series of flop films.
Two of his last three disasters were directed by Kashyap brothers. Ranbir signed up Besharam with high hopes as Abhinav Kashyap's previous film Dabangg was a runaway blockbuster.
With Besharam biting dust at the box office, Ranbir's market took a severe beating and Roy that followed it up was a big flop too. Then came Bombay Velvet, the Disaster of the Decade that hit him pretty badly.
Had Ranbir scored a hit or two among these films, he would have been regarded as the next big thing.
Now he is back to square one making attempts to bounce back. He is currently doing Tamasha with Imtiaz Ali and Jagga Jaasoos under Anurag Basu direction. Both these directors have given Rockstar and Barfi to Ranbir respectively.
Can he make a comeback after that damage done by the Kashyap Brothers?
