Rangasthalam unit announced to have broken non-Baahubali record in Tollywood with 175 Cr gross worldwide. A big challenge is ahead for Bharat Ane Nenu releasing exactly three weeks after the outing of Ram Charan starrer.
Rangasthalam raked 106 Cr share for two weeks globally. The Sukumar directorial made a pre-release business of 78 Cr and including other expenses it costed 100 Cr for distributors. That means the film entered profit zone only recently after it crossed 100 Cr share mark.
Well, BAN theatrical rights for all the territories were sold for Rs 99 crores and including all other expenditures it costed bomb for the distributors. The Koratala directorial needs to amass a minimum share of 110 Cr.
If BAN rakes 110 Cr share, it will break Rangasthalam non-Baahubali record. And if the film recovers the additional expenses spent on it no film would break the record in near future. However, it is not an easy task for Bharat Ane Nenu.
Rangasthalam received unanimous positive talk and trade experts predicted the film to break non-Baahubali records.
Actually, Rangasthalam is the only film in recent times to get undisputed response from all sections; especially from families who encouraged the film to the fullest.
Post Baahubali 2, numerous films hit the screens. Few became hits, few ended as blockbusters and others tasted bitter results. Nonetheless, Rangasthalam lured movie buffs to watch along with all family members due to the emotional quotient in the film.
Even after receiving exceptional talk, it took nearly 2-week time for Rangasthalam to reach 100 Cr share to become a profit venture for distributors.
Moreover, few aspects like release time, positive buzz and audience longing to watch a good cinema in summer season worked in favor of the film.
Coming to Bharat Ane Nenu, Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva’s charisma is biggest asset for the film. Had Mahesh Babu Films receive promising reports, they will certainly rake big numbers.
It will be good if BAN reaches its target in two-week time like Rangasthalam did or else the film will face tough circumstances with several films like Naa Peru Surya, Mahanati and Mehbooba release after two weeks after the arrival of BAN to theaters.
Uttarandhra (8.7 Cr), East (6.70 Cr), Krishna and Guntur (13.6 Cr) are Mahesh Babu’s strong zones. But, distributors of West (6 Cr), Nellore (3 Cr), Ceded (12 Cr) are in tensions as they invested fancy prices. Since Nizam estimation is 22 Cr release through, it won’t be a big problem.
Nonetheless, big challenge is ahead in overseas where the film needs to collect Rs 16 Cr there. Rangasthalam that was sold for 9 Cr in overseas has collected 12 Cr share in the zone. Although Mahesh has massive market in overseas, it is definitely a big task for the film to recover 16 Cr.
Altogether, Mahesh Babu’s charisma, Koratala Siva challenging direction and DVV Danayya’s luck factor works Bharat Ane Nenu can create non-Baahubali record. Let’s hope for the best!
