It was a grievous moment for members of the film fraternity at Sridevi's condolence meet in Mumbai's Celebration Sports Club on February 28.
While most celebrities including Sushmita Sen and Shraddha Kapoor were on the verge of a breakdown, Jacqueline Fernandez was photographed at the ceremony, all smiles.
Twitter, thus, is severely enraged and couldn't fathom the reason behind mirth.
Before cremation, Sridevi's mortal remains were kept in Celebration Sports Club for three hours as she wore a red kaanjeevaram and gold jewellery, wrapped in national tricolour.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rekha, Vidya Balan, Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput, Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol, and several other celebs paid tribute to Sridevi as did Jacqueline.
But the 32-year-old actress' vibrant grin in the scrim of melancholy is what Twitter designated rather distasteful.
Jacqueline has been deemed as "shameless" and "insane" for what the internet presumed as disrespect at Sridevi's meet.
Some others also opined that Jacqueline probably, was solely bothered about media coverage and attended the meet as an act of formality.
"If you don’t have respect for departed soul then avoid going for last rites just for the sake of media coverage," wrote one user.
