RGV Pockets Heavy Profit With Officer

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma made many path-breaking films in the past and movie buffs used to wait eagerly for his films to hit the screens.

Even, top stars were enthusiastic to associate with RGV who later shifted his base to B-Town.

Providentially, RGV made some trend-setting films in Bollywood as well. But, he lost his magical touch and delivered incessant flops later. RGV’s latest outing Officer too is sure to end as a disaster.

But the interesting fact is that, despite making flops, RGV is pocketing profits for each film he’s doing. People misunderstood that RGV was incurring losses with his flops. Nonetheless, he is enjoying huge returns for every project, as per industry sources.

Coming to Officer, RGV and his co-producer saw a minimum of Rs 10 Cr returns. The film’s Andhra, Nizam and Ceded rights were sold for Rs 6 Crores. Besides this, satellite, digital and other rights fetched Rs 12 Crores.

Nagarjuna is usually paid around Rs 5 Cr per film. However, RGV is said to have paid only 3 Cr to his old friend and spent a limited amount shooting the film in outdoor locations and using digital cameras. Hardly, Rs 7 to 8 cr was spent on the film.

Therefore, RGV pocketed huge profits with Officer, using Nagarjuna.
