Is Rajamouli Going the RGV Way?

Is Rajamouli Going the RGV Way?

There was a time when Ram Gopal Varma’s films spoke for him. Today, it’s mostly the filmmaker talking nonsense while delivering one B-grade film after another.

If there’s something RGV still excels at, it’s publicity; he knows exactly how to spark controversy right before a film’s release, ensuring free attention for his “assembly-line” projects.

SS Rajamouli, on the other hand, has always generated massive hype for his films; but with one key difference: his films consistently live up to expectations.

That’s why it came as a huge surprise when, during a technical glitch at the Varanasi event, Rajamouli chose to vent his frustration by invoking “Lord Hanuman,” even though the fault clearly lay with the technical team.

Unsurprisingly, his remarks triggered a storm. FIRs were filed, debates erupted, and social media exploded.

But here’s the striking part; suddenly everyone across India and even abroad is talking about Varanasi.

This has led to speculation: Was this a deliberate move by Rajamouli to generate buzz, similar to RGV’s tactics?

If that were true, it would be shocking. Rajamouli is known for meticulously planned, research-backed promotions; from Baahubali to RRR. He has never relied on cheap gimmicks like RGV.

Considering Varanasi is his most expensive and most prestigious film yet, is Rajamouli feeling the pressure? Or was this simply a genuine moment of frustration?

Only Rajamouli can truly settle this controversy.
