The biggest movie of this season "Spyder" didn't set any records in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana on the first day. In fact, it under-performed in all areas in the Telugu states.
However, big solace for Mahesh Babu is that the film has set record as the third biggest US opening ever for an Indian film which released during week days.
Another relief for Mahesh Babu is that the film is doing well in Tamil Nadu. He wanted to have a special market for his films in Tamil Nadu. Going by the early trends, his efforts in Tamil seems to have paid off well.
He promoted the movie aggressively in Chennai. Director Murugadoss's factor, the presence of Tamil actors like S J Surya, Bharath, R J Balaji and Dheepa made the Tamil audiences to connect with it easily.
So, whatever is the result of the movie in Telugu states, Spyder has surely created a market for him in Tamil Nadu.
