Assembly: YSR tells Babu to 'shut up'

A major political drama is unfolding in the State with two top politicians engaging in a heated exchange of words. Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy lost his cool during the BAC meeting on Monday in the State Assembly premises. When Telugu Desam supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu objected to the State government's decision to run the winter session of the State Assembly for 10 days, Rajasekhar Reddy with folded hands said he would follow whatever advice Chandrababu Naidu would give to the government.

Then Chandrababu Naidu attempted to say something which hurt the chief minister. In a fit of rage, Rajasekhar Reddy told Chandrabab Naidu to shut up his mouth.

A visibly shaken Chandrababu Naidu left the meeting in a huff. He later told reporters that he was hurt at the undemocratic and uncalled for remarks of the chief minister. "We have boycotted the meeting in protest. But we will not be cowed down by the threats of the chief minister. We will fight for people's cause and there's no question of going back buckling under Rajasekhar Reddy's threats," he said.

This is the second time this year that Rajasekhar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu exchanged words. Rajasekhar Reddy on an earlier occasion said something against the mother of Chandrababu Naidu and this invited furore in the House and outside.
