I am resident of Kurnool but presently staying in Hyderabad. But my parents and other people of my place are badly affected by the worst affected floods of the decade. I cannot reach them as the Road is cutoff. My house is 1 km away from Thungabhadra River that was submerged. My area is also a central warehouse for all commodities where everything is stored from rice to fruits those are supplied to entire city. It is totally submerged since Friday morning.
People are shelter less, no water, food and afraid of snakes which are seen flowing on water. It was nightmare to my Kurnool people. I was just helpless. Could not do anything ... ferry people are charging Rs 1000 and more and if they don’t have money they are asking for the gold ornaments to give them so that they can take them to safe place. It is really pathetic. All prices have gone up too. I request you to setup a collection centre to collect needy things like bread and fruits, biscuits and milk powder so that they survive. It is really appalling to see inaction of State Governments in the rescue efforts at Mantralayam/ Kurnool.
The truth is that State governments have failed to take any action and it is they who should have saved every life in Mantralayam/Kurnool. Instead they are just immersed in politics and bureaucracy.
Let us understand the difficult situation at Mantralayam/ Kurnool and appreciate even the smallest help provided by people and other private parties.
Though India seems to have advanced and globalized in a lot of ways, it is sad to see no help reaches the real needy at this scientifically and technologically advanced age.
I am plunged in sorrow to see inaction, no matter how many people privately try to do the work of a government; nobody can replace the machinery of government. Let us appreciate work of so many unsung heroes who have helped in timely manner to save the needy and disseminate positive thought and vibrations.
I request you all to join hands to help change the plight and future of these unfortunate people. Every little help you can provide will help the needy. Just like how small drops of water can form an ocean of water. Every Man who can help can make a significant change in other needy person’s life.
Government is meant to work for the people who elected it, but though in situations like this looks like it is common man who has to help himself when disasters occur, this has not changed since India gained independence more than 60 years ago.
I am sure you all can do this in your own small way through other genuine organizations you may know who really help in disasters.
My Humble Request to all Software Companies to come forward and help the needy people try to come to this place and see exactly what’s happening..
I Hope for a change..
Regards
Anil
