An unexpected visa setback has forced an Indian tech professional to leave a high-paying job in the United States and return home, pushing him into a difficult phase of unemployment and financial stress.
The techie, who was earning nearly $200,000 (around ₹1.8 crore) annually, is now dealing with a ₹40 lakh loan while trying to find a job in India’s highly competitive tech market.

In the post, the individual explained how missing out on the H-1B lottery changed everything.
“My visa expired, and I didn’t get picked in the H-1B lottery. My US employer doesn’t have an India office, so there was no option for internal transfer or remote work. I had no choice but to pack up and return,” he wrote.
